Matt Matsuda | Digital & Material Artist
My work is an expression of identity, emotion, and experience. My process is heavily influenced by Alan Watts, Carl Jung, and West Coast festival culture.
When I feel like I’m at my best, I’m engaged in a sense of play, similar to something reminiscent of childhood: experimenting wildly, and not caring if the walls come crashing down on my head. The process can be very meditative, relaxing and cathartic. I find that by examining the work afterwards, I can then begin to interpret meaning and learn about life.
This work is an extension of me, who I am, where I am.
